Statewide Scale-Up of the Teaching Pyramid for Promoting Social Emotional Competence and Addressing Challenging Behavior

Presenters: Mary Louise Hemmeter and Lise Fox

Two federally funded centers, the Office of Special Education Programs-funded Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention (TACSEI) and the Office of Head Start and Child Care Bureau-funded Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL), will describe their work with states around implementation of the Pyramid Model. The Pyramid Model provides practitioners, programs, and systems with an approach to implementing evidence-based practices for promoting all young children’s social emotional development and addressing challenging behavior. In this session, the presenters will describe how the centers have worked with states to create or enhance systmems to support the wide-scale and high fidelity implementation of the Pyramid practices.
