Quality of Tier 1 in Early Education Classrooms and Relation to Proportion of Children with Early Literacy Risk

While considerable research has been conducted on the quality of preschool language and early literacy instruction, how variation in quality indicators may influence children’s outcomes has been addressed much less, particularly from an RTI perspective. The goal of this presentation is to report recent findings on this issue in the context of a year-long, multisite descriptive study of preschool core instruction completed by researchers at the Center for Response to Intervention in Early Childhood (CRTIEC). Reported will be children’s language and early literacy outcomes as influenced by variation several quality indicators.
